FEATURED IMPACT IN THE NEWS The world of country music will come to Frisco in 2023 as the Ford Center hosts the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards. The 2023 show, which will be held May 11, will be livestreamed globally, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. “It’s going to have a signi cant impact on the entire region hosting this event,” said Josh Dill, director of sports and events at Visit Frisco. The 58th ACM Awards will be the rst nationally televised award show to take place at the Ford Center, according to Dill. The Star in Frisco surrounds the Ford Center and includes the Dallas Cowboys world headquarters, restaurants, retail and an Omni Hotel. The Ford Center is the result of a public-private partnership among the Dallas Cowboys, the cost $8.5 million and will be located at 7101 Warren Parkway, Frisco, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations. The bank is one of 28 new locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro- plex, with plans for three in the Frisco area. A spokesperson for the company said Frost Bank wanted a larger presence in the Dallas area. An opening date has not been announced. 214-515-4900. www.frostbank.com 8 Construction on the second phase of The Links on PGA Parkway began in late July with the rst apartment units expected to be complete by February 2023, according to a news release. Phase 2 includes four new buildings with 315 new apartment units located at 15950 Paramount Way as part of the PGA Park- way luxury apartments development, according to the news release. Phase 2 is part of a four-phase development plan that will include 1,310 apartment units in total. The new phase will include its own pool, amenities and a clubhouse, accord- ing to the release. city of Frisco and Frisco ISD. Dill acknowledged the role that the relationship between the Cowboys and Academy of Country Music played in bringing the event to Frisco. “In October of last year we had a World Cup site visit, and we talked to [the Cowboys representatives] about [the ACM Awards] being on our radar, but we didn’t get heavily involved in the logistics until April,” Dill said. Hosts, performers, events and ticket sale dates have yet to be announced for the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards.
