City program to require stormwater inspections Due to the growth of Round Rock’s population in recent years, the city is implementing a program requiring stormwater control ponds throughout its boundaries to be inspected. The bond election will be held Nov. 7. The two bond propositions Williamson County voters will decide on include: • Proposition A: $825 million road bond • Proposition B: $59 million parks and recreation bond The $825 million road bond would go toward constructing, acquiring, maintain- ing, expanding and improving 38 road, bridge and state highway projects across the county.

With the new program, the city is establishing maintenance standards for all privately owned structures. Owners will have three years to hire a licensed engineer to complete an inspection of their stormwater ponds. If they don’t, the city will have the ability to hire an engineer and complete any required maintenance, the cost of which would be billed to the property owner.
