This comes as city officials gave the go-ahead for a construction contract to nearly double its water treatment capacity from a shared facility as a member city in the Brushy Creek Regional Utility
Wholesale and retail water customers will soon receive updated water and wastewater rates, as the city of Round Rock moves forward with a rate study. What you need to know City officials approved a $121,437 contract with Raftelis Financial Consultants to conduct an analysis of its water rates for wholesale and retail customers Nov. 6. The city reviews its rates on a three-year schedule, city documents show, to recover the cost of providing water and wastewater services. Per city documents, the study is expected to be completed in June.

Round Rock has an allocation of 11.2 MGD of current capacity. The expansion will increase that to 21.8 MGD, Round Rock Public Works Director Michael Thane said. Thane said the expansion to the treatment plant is expected to be completed in 2028.

Most property owners received their 2025 property tax statements in late October, according to a county news release. What residents should know Williamson County commissioners approved a $702.4 million budget and supporting tax rate of $0.413776 per $100 valuation for fiscal year 2025- 26 at a Sept. 3 meeting. The new tax rate is the highest rate commission- ers could adopt without calling for an election. It is a 3.4% increase over FY 2024-25’s rate. Based on the median property value of $358,542, the updated tax bill would be $1,556.
