FM 1488 west widening A project to widen FM 1488 is taking shape in Magnolia between FM 1774 and west of FM 149. The project will widen FM 1488 from two lanes to four lanes with a continuous left-turn lane and was 22% completed as of May 4. Timeline: June 2022-rst quarter 2025 Cost: $48.28 million Funding source: Texas Department of Transportation

Holderrieth Road widening Harris County Precinct 3 is reconstructing the two-lane asphalt Holderrieth Road in Tomball between Hwy. 249 and just west of Hufsmith-Kohrville Road. The project will upgrade Holderrieth Road to a four-lane concrete boulevard to improve safety, increase capacity for vehicle travel and improve drainage. Timeline: March 2023-second quarter 2024 Cost: $27.1 million Funding source: Harris County Precinct 3 UPCOMING PROJECTS

Precinct 3 nears completion on $3.7M Cypress Creek Greenway trails One of two sets of pedestrian amenity projects totaling $3.7 million along the Cypress Creek Greenway has been completed, a spokesperson with Harris County Precinct 3 conrmed May 9. The projects are funded by Precinct 3. These projects are part of the larger Cypress Creek Greenway project, which aims to connect more than 40 miles of walking and biking trails along the creek. The pedestrian amenity projects focus on parts of the greenway on the north and south sides of where Hwy. 249 intersects with Cypress Creek, providing access to the Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve, according to Precinct 3. A second project—Loop 1—was ex- pected to be nished in late May. This project includes pedestrian under- crossings at Hwy. 249. Trails con- necting both loops will be completed this summer. Hufsmith-Kohrville bridge upgrades In mid-April, Harris County Precinct 3 ocials began maintenance work on the rst bridges in a series of three bridge improvement packages totaling $1 million funded by Precinct 3 that will cover 47 bridges across the Cypress, Spring, Humble and Crosby areas, per an April 11 news release. Precinct 3 Communications Manager Jeannie Peng said 21 bridges are included in Package 1, which were awarded by Harris County Commissioners Court and should be under construction by late 2023. The Hufsmith-Kohrville Road bridge over Willow Creek is included in Package 1, although construction had not started as of press time May 24. FM 1488 at Waller County line A second project by TxDOT to widen FM 1488 from the Waller County line near Joseph Road to FM 1774 in the city of Magnolia was 64% completed as of a May 4 update from TxDOT, the latest available. The project will widen FM 1488 from two lanes to four lanes with a con- tinuous left-turn lane. Timeline: November 2020-third quarter 2023 Cost: $30.33 million Funding source: TxDOT
