NOW OPEN 1 Citra Urgent Care opened a new clinic Aug. 1 at 7680 Preston Road in Frisco, ac- cording to its website. The clinic provides urgent care services, including treatment for burns, broken bones, strains, sprains and COVID-19 care services, including same-day PCR testing as well as Moderna vaccines and boosters. Citra Urgent Care also offers virtual visit services, enabling patients to be treated for routine health concerns, including colds, the flu, sore throat, rashes and allergies, according to its website. 469-200-7042. www.citracare.com 2 Rodeo Goat’s biggest location for its one-of-a-kind burgers opened in early August at 3111 Preston Road, in a building formerly occupied by Romano’s Macaroni Grill. The burger joint is known for its burgers, fries and beers. Featured burgers include one named after Neil Young, which comes with a vegan patty, and the Bodacious, which comes with onion, jalapeños and barbecue sauce. The restaurant features a “Battle of the Burgers,” in which two burgers go head- to-head, and the one with the most votes wins. Eldo- rado Parkway, Ste. 120, Frisco. The shop serves standard and international ice cream flavors along with other Indian-in- spired treats, according to the website. 4 Sunrise Caffé held a grand opening in early August, according to owner Jose Betances. The cafe is now open near the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco at 6065 Sports Village Road. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast classics, such as French toast, omelets and skillet-based dishes, are served in the morning, and burgers, sandwiches and empanadas are served in the afternoon and evening. After 5 p.m. the restaurant has a “sunrise after sunset” happy hour with Latin dishes. 214-407-7060. www.sunrise-caffe.com 5 Popeyes opened a location at the end of August in the Stonebriar Centre mall’s food court, located at 2601 Preston Road in Frisco, according to the Popeyes media team in an email. The Louisiana-style fast-food restaurant replaced Para- dise Bakery, Stonebriar Centre General Manager Randy Barnett said. Its menu includes fried chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets and a col- lection of sides. 469-817-7990. www.popeyes.com COMING SOON 6 Giaola Italian Kitchen is expected to open the company’s second ever location in Frisco; the original restaurant is located in Carlsbad, California. Giaola Italian Kitchen is a collaboration between owner Sandra DiCicco and Executive Chef Amy DiBase that is expected to open in October. Giaola Italian Kitchen will mimic the original menu of classic Italian dishes and laid-back atmosphere of the Carlsbad location, according to a spokesperson for the restaurant.
