SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS TOMBALL ISD The number of Tomball Police Department school resource ocers supplied to Tomball ISD will increase from nine to 12 in the 2022-23 school year with a plan to increase again by the end of the school year, according to district information. Magnolia ISD calls $232 million bond election for Nov. 8 ballot

BOND PACKAGE The Magnolia ISD board of trustees approved calling a $232 million bond election for the November ballot.

MAGNOLIA ISD The board of trustees on Aug. 8 approved calling a $232 million bond election for the Nov. 8 ballot in Magnolia ISD, the district’s rst bond since 2015. Superintendent Todd Stephens said the bond package consists of two propositions with Proposition A totaling $228 million for facilities and Proposition B totaling $4 million for safety and security. Assistant Superintendent of Operations Erich Morris said during the meeting the bond will not increase the tax rate. Proposition A includes a ninth elementary school costing $41 million, a third middle school costing $66 million, a third junior high school costing $85 million, $10 million toward land for future schools, and $2 million toward safety and security, according to the meeting presentation.

Conroe ISD proposes $0.06 tax rate decrease

The projected scal year 2022-23 tax rate is set at $1.1146 per $100 assess- ment, which is a $0.0614 decrease from 2021-22. Under the proposed budget, teachers and librarians will receive a $1,500 pay increase, and all other employees will receive a 2% increase, Rice said.

Rice said the revenue the district receives from the state is determined by its average daily attendance. Rice said over the last 10 years, enrollment has steadily increased with the excep- tion of the 2020-21 school year.
