646-acre community slated along FM 2920 in Hockley

Tomball City Council members approved rezoning land June 21 slated for a proposed townhome community on Holderrieth Road between South Cherry Street and Hufsmith-Kohrville Road. The proposed project by Historymaker Homes is slated for a 19-acre tract at 11922 Holderrieth Road, Tomball. The community would include townhomes available for purchase, not for rent, with most homes including a three-bedroom, two-bathroom conguration, according to a presentation by Historymaker Homes to council mem- bers June 7. Square footage is estimated to range from 1,700-1,800 square feet with the townhome exteriors being maintained by the homeowners association, according to Historymaker Homes. Prices are expected to begin in the low $200,000s with construction anticipated to begin in late 2022, representatives told council members June 21. Historymaker Homes, a Dallas-based group, has a similar townhome community within the Balmoral Community in Humble.

A new development in Hockley is expected to bring 2,300 homes to northwest Harris County. Land Tejas, a residential development rm that has constructed communi- ties across the Greater Houston area, has acquired 646 acres on

FM 2920 between Hwy. 290 and Hwy. 249 to develop Cypress Green, the new single-family home community, according to a June 16 news release. “We are very excited to continue growing our portfolio of outstanding master-planned communities in the Greater Houston area with the addition of Cypress Green,” said James Henrie, chief operating ocer for Land Tejas, in the release. The development will feature homesites ranging from 40- to 55-foot-wide properties. The community is located within Waller ISD boundaries. The rst homes are expected to be completed in 2022, according to the release. Henrie said in the release he also expects home sales to begin the same year. Land Tejas has not announced builders or pricing for the development, the release stated.
