PFLUGERVILLE The first of several public meetings concerning Pfluger- ville’s upcoming Downtown East project will take place in April. Downtown East is a 29-acre devel- opment at the northwest corner of FM 685 and East Pecan Street that will act as an extension to Pflugerville’s existing downtown. The area will be home to a new City Hall and a multigenerational recre- ation center, among other yet-to-be- determined projects, and Main Street will be extended to run through the development and connect with FM 685. The development is still in planning stages, and members of the public who attend the April 27 meeting will have the opportunity to meet the project team and provide feedback that will help inform the direction of the project. “We’re well aware of the change that this project will bring, and what we set forth to do is do it in a way that’s

responsive to those concerns,” Deputy City Manager Trey Fletcher said. Planning for Downtown East has been underway for several months. Most recently, during a February City Council meeting, the Pflugerville Downtown Action Plan received an update charting the course for the future of downtown Pflugerville. Originally adopted in 2018, the strategic plan and budgetary tool outlines projects for the city with the goal of revitalizing downtown. The meeting will take place April 27 from 6-8 p.m. at the City Council Chambers located at 100 E. Main St., Ste. 500, Pflugerville. All members of the public are invited to attend.
