PISD leads Houston in average SAT scores Pearland ISD received the highest average Scho- lastic Assessment Test, or SAT, scores in the Houston area, data from the Texas Education Agency shows. With a score of 1158, the district outperformed all 24 school districts in Region IV, TEA’s service region that includes the Houston metro, surpassing state and national averages. “We are incredibly proud of our students and the dedication of our educators who have worked tirelessly to maintain excellence, even through the challenges of the post-pandemic learning environment,” said Joseph Cahill, PISD’s director of advanced academics. AISD OKs 2026-27 academic calendar Alvin ISD students will start school Aug. 12 and 13, following board approval for the 2026-27 academic calendar at its Jan. 13 meeting.
