Shiloh Road construction set to finish this spring A series of projects along a segment of Shiloh Road in Plano is expected to wrap up this spring. Several projects along Shiloh Road between 14th Street and Park Boulevard are expected to be com- pleted in April, Plano Director of Media Relations Steve Stoler said. The overview Construction on the widening of Shiloh Road between 14th Street and Park Boulevard began in May 2022 and is budgeted at nearly $15 million. Stoler said that city bonds have covered $5.9 million, Collin County has contributed a little over $5 million, and an interlocal agreement with Dallas Area Rapid Transit provided $4 million. The expansion of Shiloh Road will convert it from two to four lanes, according to information on the project. About 95% of the project was complete as of late February, according to a city update.

$30M awarded for new TRE trains Dallas-Fort Worth’s Regional Transporta- tion Council awarded $30 million in federal funds to obtain new vehicles for the Trinity Railway Express. What’s happening? The funds will be used to purchase nine replacement vehicles for the TRE, according to the Regional Transportation Council’s agenda. Dallas Area Rapid Transit and Trinity Metro will each contribute $30 million in local funds to the project. “Our Trinity Railway Express rail vehicles are past their point of beauty,” Senior Pro- gram Manager Christie Gotti said. “They’re still clearly running, but they’re getting to that point that people are maybe getting uncomfortable being in those vehicles, so we wanted to help with that.”
