In March we highlight the women who helped shape Georgetown, including Ethel Mae Moore who has worked to preserve not only Georgetown’s African-American community but all of Georgetown’s history. Mae owned Mae’s Beauty Shop in the TRG neighborhood and helped create and outfit the nearby Shotgun House Black History Museum. Her volunteer service also brought her awards from United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Handcrafts Unlimited, and other Georgetown organizations.
