3 Cavender’s James and Patricia Cavender founded Cavender’s Boot City in 1965, oering just three styles of boots in their small East Texas town. After 60 years, Cavender’s has opened stores across the nation, with 100 locations in 15 states, including two in Austin.

7 The Brass Tap The Brass Tap has closed its location at The Triangle in North Austin. The craft beer bar and eatery had previously taken over what was formerly Flying Saucer Draught Emporium in August 2023, with the taproom announcing its nal day of business less than two years later in mid-April.
