Owners John and Jennifer Garrett launched the rst edition of Community Impact Newspaper in 2005 with three full-time employees covering Round Rock and P ugerville, Texas. We have expanded our operations to include hundreds of employees, our own printing operation and over 30 hyperlocal editions across three states. Our circulation is over 2 million residential mailboxes, and it grows each month with new residents and developments.

FROMKATHIE: It is hard to believe we are at the two-year anniversary of our countrywide shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic and still have so many local businesses reeling from the e ects. Our front-page story this month touches on those e ects, including in ation, sta ng shortages and supply chain issues (see Page 26). FROMDANICA: Local homeowners at risk of ooding may soon have some relief. A recent study has provided the Harris County Flood Control District with a long-term roadmap of nearly two dozen new stormwater detention basins to add throughout the Cypress Creek watershed. The plan would remove about 19% of structures from the 100-year ood plain, including about 2,200 homes and other facilities in Cy-Fair. Learn more inside (see Page 28). Danica Lloyd, EDITOR
