Round Rock City Council approved $7.75 million in additional funding for five transportation projects as part of the Round Rock Transportation Capital Improvement Plan. Officials approved the funding during an April 28 meeting but will continue to update funding as needed in the coming months. Of the projects, three are new to the TCIP, while two are receiving increased funds. For one project involving updates to Segments 5 and 6 of Kenney Fort Boulevard that will run from Univer- sity Boulevard to East Old Settlers Boulevard, officials approved an

The Chisholm Trail South project, which involves mobility and drainage improvements from Sam Bass Road to Brushy Creek, and Eagle’s Nest Street, a project to create a roadway connection between Chisholm Trail Road and Cypress Drive, each received starting budgets of $1 million. The fifth project has an initial $2 million budget and entails work on US 79 from I-35 to A.W. Grimes Boulevard. Funding will come from the city and the Texas Department of Transportation to widen the roadway to six lanes, install a raised median along the roadway’s length, and include shared-use paths.
