Lone Star College System names rst Hispanic chancellor What’s happening?: Virginia Fraire was selected as the new president of LSCUniversity Park. She will start her role Sept. 1, according to a separate release. The Lone Star College System announced July 28 the two new presidents for LSCMontgomery and LSCUniversity Park. Mario Castillo began as the next chancellor of the Lone Star College System on Aug. 11, following the board of trustees’ decision to select him as the sole nalist for the role during a July 21 special meeting, LSC ocials announced in a news release. The overview: Castillo replaces out- going Chancellor Stephen Head, who announced his retirement in January, eective Aug. 1, Community Impact previously reported. Head has served as chancellor since 2014. As such, the board of trustees began the search for a new chancellor in late March, according to a July 21 news release. Castillo is the fth LSCS
