M omentum Coee, located on Rayford Road, is no stranger to oering coees and drinks to t the season. Each season, the sta contributes ideas and comes up with new avors and coees, co-owner Allen Leibowitz said. This year, the shop introduced patrons to the cold Spring Shaker. The coee preparation starts with a blend of rosemary, honey, sugar and hot water prepared in-house. From there, it is put into a shaker with ice and two shots of espresso and shaken like a martini. Half-and-half is slowly poured over the drink to get a blending of avors. Leibowitz said having seasonal oerings keeps things fresh for both the customers and sta. “We all like new things,” Leibowitz said. “Our specialities are done with in-house ingredients.” For those wishing to try a dierent kind of cold drink, Leibowitz also suggests the Vietnamese iced coee, which changes avors and intensity as the ice melts in it. S ince Blue Door Coee opened on The Woodlands Waterway last fall, the community-driven coee shop has seen its coees, teas and baked goods catch on with visitors to Water- way Square, its management said. With summer underway, Blue Door modied one of its signature drinks, the iced Purple Rain, by adding Blue Door’s homemade lavender limeade mix to its blue-hued buttery tea, resulting in the iced purple concoction. “The lavender and the lime are sweeter,” Blue Door Head of Coee Tamara Albishah said. “The buttery tea is always an unsweetened herbal tea, and so that gives it a little bit of a sweetness to it. And then, the tea is blue, so the limeade turns it purple.” Blue Door co-owner Chad Gauntt said the base tea is hand-planted, culti- vated and harvested at a fair trade farm in Thailand operated exclusively by women and is provided to The Wood- lands coee shop by Teema Teas. The ., -ounce Purple Rain is available through the summer with a possible return set for next spring. Spring Shaker Momentum Coffee
