[But] we found that wasn’t actually the case even though these people absolutely could buy a house right now. They had never lived in Houston ... before so they wanted to rent for a little while [and search the market],” Dean said.

announced June  it began construc- tion on a yet-to-be-named multifam- ily residence at Six Pines Drive and Timberloch Place in The Woodlands, which will bring  residences to a seven-story building on . acres of land at the site in . The ,-square-foot complex will include one-, two- and three-bed- room apartments as well as  street- level townhomes. Units in the building will have an average unit size of , square feet, according to a news release. The project is adjacent to several other Howard Hughes apartment buildings in the area—The Millen- nium Six Pines and The Millennium Waterway. The new project shares some architectural features with those properties, such as a design elements, according to the company. Jim Carman, senior vice president for commercial development for The Howard Hughes Corp., said the project is designed to appeal to a wide range of renters, from single people to empty-nesters as well as those who own another home but want to live near work during the week. “There’s a market demand for this type of housing and particularly in the more walkabout urban areas of The Woodlands,” Carman said. The project is the sixth multifamily community by Howard Hughes in The Woodlands. Another project in
