Developer improves CR 133 in Hutto Hutto City Council accepted March 6 infrastructure improvements on CR 133 after a review by city sta†. The details Developer Empire Continental, Gray Engineering and DNT Construction, who are working together to build the Flora subdivi- sion, made improvements to the streets and drainage systems near the development.

Kelly Lane project reaches milestone Pugerville construction crews installed the nal beam for Phase 2 of the Kelly Lane improvement project March 21. The gist Crews installed six bridge beams for the reconstructed road, turning it from a two- lane roadway to a four-lane divided section. Council approved the design for Phase 2 in December 2024, and funded it through a $21.1 million voter-approved bond.

Pugerville’s Weiss Lane widening progresses The city of Pugerville approved a contract for preliminary services on the Weiss Lane widen- ing project at its meeting March 25. The $249,200 contract includes right-of-way and appraisal services. The details The Weiss Lane project will widen the road from East Pecan Street to Pleasanton Parkway, incorporating shared-use paths on both sides and widening the bridge over Gilleland Creek. Initial plans for the project are to expand the street to four lanes, although the city will consider expanding it to six lanes in the future. Construction is scheduled to wrap up in 2027. Southwest Airlines now charges for checked bags On March 11, Southwest Airlines announced that it will be ending its free checked bag services beginning May 28. In a nutshell The change follows a previous move to do away with another signature Southwest policy for open seating, as previously reported by Community Impact . However, the decision will not impact reward members. Southwest will continue to o†er two free checked bags only for its A-list Preferred Rapid Rewards members and customers traveling on Business Select fares. Rapid Rewards credit cardholders will get one free checked bag. Additionally, reward members will receive more frequent ier points on Business Select fares while earning less on Wanna Get Away fares.
