Hutto ISD approves learning materials for 202526 school year Hutto ISD will not make major changes to its curriculum for the 2025-26 school year, although the name changed for the mathematics curricu- lum used by the district. What you need to know Trustees approved the use of the same learning materials for the coming school year that the district is using in the current school year, including the Bluebonnet mathematics curriculum. While the curriculum is technically new to Texas schools, Brittany Swanson, HISD’s asso- ciate superintendent of instruction and innova- tion, said the district piloted it under the name Carnegie Math over the past two years. HISD plans $10M transportation barn A new transportation hub for Hutto ISD operations is in the works, under a $10 mil- lion bond-funded initiative to purchase new school buses and make operational upgrades. The overview In a March 12 meeting of the Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce, HISD Superintendent Jeni Neatherlin said a new transportation facility, which will be located along Chris Kel- ley Boulevard to help ease trac, decrease fuel costs and shorten trips. The facility will house some of the district’s bus eet, according to the district, and eliminate the need for buses to travel to and from the existing transportation facility located on FM 1660. The district has also purchased a total of 27 new buses, at a cost of about $146,000 each.

State Board of Education’s rollout of new options for instructional materials, districts can receive additional funding support to purchase them. The amount of funding provided per student for districts who choose to implement the curricu- lum was increased by $60 per student to pur- chase and print them. This would bring HISD’s funding to $231 per student for text books. The district is not using the Bluebonnet read- ing curriculum, which has drawn controversy for its inclusion of biblical references.
