TRANSPORTATION UPDATES Hollywood Park plans street repair program City Council was expected to consider acting on a long-range street maintenance program at its regularly scheduled June 20 meeting. In a May 23 public forum, city engineers unveiled a report that included a review of Hollywood Park pave- ment conditions, which had been conducted in late March, and a proposed multiyear program for potential minor and major road projects. City Secretary Patrick Aten said council would use its June 20 meeting to vote on a prioritized program. According to the engineers’ report, it would take an estimated $13.2 million to repair all 53 surveyed city streets. Frank Jaster, senior project manager for consulting firm KCI Technologies, said he and his staff graded the streets, rating them excellent, good, fair, poor and failed. Jaster said Hollywood Park has no excellent or failed roads, but has many fair to increasingly poor streets, including El Portal Drive, Sunway Drive, Skyforest Drive and Meadowbrook Drive. The new street maintenance program would begin in summer 2024 and would take 10-15 years to fully imple- ment, Jaster said. Jaster said, however, minor fixes, such as sealing cracks
