They shared a love for healthy dining and exercising, Delma said. In April 2023, the Ferrises and Bernal took Morton up on his oer to sell The Healthy Spot SATX as he opened a nutritional drink shop in Dripping Springs. Delma said she and Bernal like to make it easy for visitors of all ages to enjoy an assortment of nutritious drinks, waes and other items. “Every time somebody walks in the door, it is a brand new story,” Delma said. “It’s so inspirational to me, and I hope to help the commu- nity with this store.”

Low-carbohydrate, low-calorie, high-protein shakes have 250 calo- ries, 24 grams of protein, 18 grams of carbohydrates and 21 essential nutrients. Other avors include cookie dough, butter pecan, red velvet and strawberry banana. The Healthy Spot also oers iced protein coee and protein bars. Delma said some guests get a beverage before or after a workout, and others use the shakes as a meal replacement. “I like to say that these drinks are positive, have intent and are magical,” she said.

Spot SATX said they are serving up nearly 40 avors of protein shakes and more than 20 varieties of energy drinks—all made to order. Owners Delma and Dean Ferris, and Anthony Bernal said they hope their shop helps people improve their health. A native of Hondo, Delma said when she and her husband, Dean, served in the military, they ate all kinds of food around the world. But in civilian life, she and her husband sought to change their diets and exercise to develop healthier lifestyles. In 2018 they met Bernal, a fellow Hondo native, who introduced the Ferrises to an array of healthy pro- tein shakes and energy teas, protein waes, and a workout routine that
