Steve Sams joined The Howard Hughes Corp.—which develops The Woodlands Hills, The Woodlands and Bridgeland in Cypress—in April, replacing Heath Melton as senior vice president of residential development for master-planned communities. Sams has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pitts- burgh. This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
