Trader Joe’s to open new location in Bee Cave A new Trader Joe’s is coming soon to the Shops at The Galleria in Bee Cave. The details On Nov. 22, the business registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for a new location in Bee Cave, located in the building at 12812 Shops Parkway, Ste. 300, which currently houses Office Depot, the business previously known as OfficeMax. Information included on the project details page states that construction will begin in February and wrap up June 1, with an estimated cost of $900,000 for renovation of the 17,109 square-foot facility. When reached for comment, an Office Depot official stated that company notification of the store’s closure had not been issued as of press time.

Lakeway greenlights new storage facility Lakeway City Council approved a new lux- ury storage facility located on the southwest corner of the roundabout on Highlands Boulevard and Bee Creek Road on Nov. 18. The climate-controlled facility at 1900 Highlands Blvd., Lakeway, is intended to appear similar to an office building, without any exterior doors and with units only being accessible from interior hallways. A timeline for completion was not avail- able as of press time.

A representative for Trader Joe’s declined to answer when reached for comment on the new location. What else? Trader Joe’s is a grocery store chain with over 500 locations in the United States. This new loca- tion would mark the fourth to open in the Austin area, with three other locations in Northwest Austin, downtown Austin and Rollingwood.

WTCPUA moves forward on Mirasol Springs pipeline

developers of Mirasol Springs to add several new provisions, for which final approval will be decided at the Dec. 18 board meeting, after press time. Provisions were added to the letter to prohibit Mirasol Springs developers from drilling any new wells and to abandon certain wells currently in use. Provisions regarding wastewater treatment and denitrification were also added.

Work is underway on an agreement between the West Travis County Public Utility Agency and Mirasol Springs for a new 3-inch water pipeline extension from Lake Travis to the 1,400-acre development on the border of Travis and Hays counties. In reaction to public comments and a letter from Travis County, the WTCPUA has updated its water service availability letter, or SAL, to
