1 Kuykendahl Road widening Work to widen Kuykendahl Road from two to four lanes between Lake Wood- lands Drive and Research Forest Drive was complete as of Jan. 31, and all lanes were open between Lake Woodlands and Bay Branch Drive, according to Mont- gomery County Precinct 3. The 1.5-mile road section was expanded from two to four lanes. As part of the project, a new bridge with a walkway was con- structed for the northbound lanes over Bay Branch. According to a Jan. 31 news release, intermittent lane closures were expected during cleanup. Timeline: January 2021-January 2022 Cost: $3.57 million Funding source: Montgomery County Precinct 3 2 Rayford Road widening Road construction to widen Rayford Road to four lanes between Waterbend Cove and Birnham Woods Drive was complete as of mid-January, according to Montgomery County Precinct 3. As of Feb. 1, the lanes under construction on Rayford and at the Rayford-Birnham Woods intersection were open. The trac signal at the Rayford-Spring Trails Park Drive intersection was scheduled to begin operation in February, and work on the

signal poles at the Rayford and Birnham Woods intersection was also set to begin work. As part of the project, a new bridge for eastbound Rayford Road trac east of Spring Trails Park Drive was also con- structed, and Birnham Woods Drive was widened to four lanes north and south of Rayford with left-turn lanes. Timeline: October 2020-early 2022 Cost: $2.88 million Funding source: Montgomery County Precinct 3 ONGOING PROJECTS 3 Gosling Road widening A project to widen Gosling Road to four lanes between Creekside Forest Drive and Gatewood Reserve Lane and build a bridge for two new southbound lanes began in December with initial clearing and bridge work. The project is a joint eort between Montgomery County Precinct 3 and Harris County Precinct 4 because it includes areas within both counties within The Woodlands Town- ship. The project will create two 12-foot lanes in each direction as well as the two additional lanes for a 1,817-foot bridge over Spring Creek. Northbound Gosling Road will be restriped at the intersection with Creekside Forest Drive for two lanes

UPCOMING PROJECTS BirnhamWoods Drive widening Montgomery County on Jan. 11 awarded the bid for the Birnham Woods Drive widening project from Waterbend Cove to Rayford Road. The project will widen the road from two to four lanes. Precinct 3 ocials said the contract will be for 420 days. When completed, the road will consist of two lanes plus a left-turn lane in each direction on Birnham Woods at the intersections with Waterbend Cove and Lexington Boulevard. Timeline: February 2022-mid-2023 Cost: $2.99 million Funding source: Montgomery County Precinct 3

Timeline: December 2021-early 2023 Cost: $8.2 million (Montgomery County Precinct 3 contributing $4 million)
