Motions to censure trustees Bone and Weston fail ROUND ROCK ISD Motions to censure two Round Rock ISD members did not pass at a regular meeting Aug. 19. In two 3-3-1 votes, with Place 1 Trustee Kevin Johnson abstaining and the “no” votes repre- sented by Place 4 Trustee Cory Vessa, Place 2 Trustee Mary Bone and Place 7 Trustee Danielle Weston, motions failed to censure Bone and Weston for an alleged attempt to prevent the board from passing its 2022-23budget June 16. Place 5 Trustee Amy Weir requested the censure and said the actions of Weston and Bone were not helpful to the board, the district and its students. Bone and Weston criticized the process, calling it “political theater,” and chastising the resolutions for “ascribing motives” to their early departure of the June 16 meeting. Place 3 Trustee and board President Amber Feller and Place 6 Trustee Tiffanie Harrison clar- ified that in addition to the 2022-23 budget being jeopardized, June 16 was also the last day all necessary staff would be available to be present for and facilitate the meeting without recalling them from scheduled vacations.
