East South Street and South Central Avenue Water Line Realignment New Braunfels Utilities began work on its $425,000 East South Street and South Central Avenue Water Line Realignment Project on June 20. Installation of the water lines was originally scheduled for completion in mid-August but was extended to Sept. 2. “Repairs to the aging infrastructure required additional work and mate- rials to complete the project,” NBU ocials said in a press release. Roadways remained closed to thru-trac during construction, but vehicular access to businesses and residences was maintained. Minor detours were required for short periods of time during water line and customer service line tie-ins, accord- ing to NBU. The project will improve the area’s ag- ing water infrastructure in connection with the city of New Braunfels com- pleting its citywide roadway project.
