3 health care updates from New Braunfels-area hospitals

1 Resolute Baptist Hospital The hospital oers a full spectrum of treatment for Peripheral Artery Disease, or PAD, from medical therapy to surgical therapy. PAD is when plaque builds up in the arteries that carry blood to the legs. Receiving medical treatment before surgically treating PAD would lower a person’s risk of heart attack or stroke, said Logan Warren, a general vascular surgeon at Resolute Baptist Hospital who specializes in advanced, minimally invasive care for patients with vascular disease.

2 Methodist Hospital Northeast Ocials with Methodist Hospital Northeast celebrated the grand opening of its heart and lung specialty center with a ribbon cutting May 20, according to a news release. The Methodist Heart and Lung Institute Northeast Specialty Center oers cardiovascular care for heart failure patients. Methodist Hospital Northeast CEO Jerrica George said the center reects the hospital’s ongoing commitment to providing quality, specialized care close to home.

3 Christus Santa Rosa Hospital-New Braunfels

The hospital began oering a lung nodule program at the end of 2025 that helps detect lung cancer. A lung nodule is a small mass that shows up as a spot on the lung during a CT scan or chest X-Ray, Director of Clinical Services Morgan Meyers said. If a patient has an abnormal chest X-Ray, doctors will conduct a complete evaluation and coordinate care with various specialists, according to the hospital system’s website.
