Hutto installs Limmer Loop tra c signal Hutto installed a new trac light at the intersection of Limmer Loop and Exchange Boulevard as a part of a collaboration with Hutto ISD to improve the intersection. The details The Limmer Loop and Exchange Bou- levard intersection improvements, which include a new trac signal and an eastbound turn lane, will allow students to safely walk to Cottonwood Creek Elementary School, according to city documents. Hutto considers Old Town street changes The city of Hutto held an open house for residents, business owners and other stakeholders for proposed changes to Old Town streets and parking Feb. 25. The specics Hutto city ocials presented proposals for one-way streets in downtown, as well as col- lected feedback for overall parking concerns and how the city can balance trac ow with pedestrian safety as the area grows. Other proposed changes include paid and alternative parking, employee-designated parking, as well as economic development opportunities. Thoughts on the proposed changes will be presented to City Council at a regularly scheduled March 27 meeting. Construction on Heatherwilde Boulevard from Pugerville Parkway to SH 45 began Feb. 3 and wrapped up Feb. 7. The city worked to construct a right-turn lane on Wilke Lane near the Citizen House apart- ments, which reopened Feb. 28. On the intersections of Kenney Fort Boulevard and New Meister Lane and Kenney Fort Boule- vard and Meister Lane, a third-party contractor worked within the right-of-way to install underground ”ber. Roads are now open. The projects around Meister Lane come after Pugerville City Council also approved a credit agreement for $2.14 million in roadway impact fees in 2023, with plans for an area developer to connect Kenney Fort Boulevard to Meister Lane.

The city also started work to widen Picadilly Drive, Central Commerce Drive and Royston Lane in early February. Other improvements to these areas include drainage, lighting and pedestrian features within the existing right- of-way. The construction is slated to last until September 2026. Austin airport passenger tra c remains steady Passenger trac at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport remained nearly steady in 2024 compared to 2023, after the last two years’ record-breaking totals, according to data released by airport ocials Feb. 4. The details With a total of over 21 million departing and arriving passengers passing through ABIA, 2024 marks the airport’s second busiest year. Both 2022 and 2023 broke records for busiest year at the air- port, and the growth since 2018 only slowed around the time of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Compared to 2023, passenger trac at ABIA declined by 1.5%. The busiest airline for ABIA in 2024 was South- west Airlines, with over eight million passengers, up 5.2% year over year. This is similar to the trac seen in 2022 and 2023.
