What Makes a House a Home Our community has always been about more than beautiful homes. Just beyond The Woodlands, 7918 Red Bay Circle is an exceptional 6-acre gated estate offering privacy and space to gather, entertain, and live across generations. A fully gated drive framed by two ponds leads to a thoughtfully designed residence featuring 7 bedrooms, 8 full and 3 half baths, an elevator, and a whole-home generator, along with six garage bays, a 788 sq ft garage apartment, and a 518 sq ft private casita. Outdoor living is elevated with a resort-style pool and spa, creating a setting equally suited for everyday comfort and unforgettable gatherings.

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors recently highlighted a number of positive developments across the community, ranging from public safety successes to infrastructure enhancements and future planning efforts. President and CEO Monique Sharp recognized the Township’s Neighborhood Services team for earning first place in its population category from the National Association of Town Watch for the National Night Out campaign. The Woodlands has ranked in the national top three for 26 consecutive years, reflecting a long-standing commitment to community involvement, crime prevention and strong partnerships with public safety agencies. The Board also reviewed a quarterly law enforcement report from Montgomery County and Harris County. Overall trends remained encouraging. Crimes of note declined, and injury-related traffic accidents fell by 9.34% compared to the prior year. Officials pointed to proactive enforcement efforts and targeted operations that helped reduce retail theft, vehicle burglaries and jugging incidents. Our partner agency’s progress continues at the intersection of Woodlands Parkway and Grogan’s Mill Road where improvements are taking shape. The project includes restored green space, updated landscaping and lighting, 423 new trees, and the “First Fifty” commemorative art installation celebrating The Woodlands’ 50-year history. Financially, the Township remains on solid footing. A recent report showed General Fund revenues running above budget through November 2025, driven largely by strong sales tax collections and grant funding. Spending also came in below budget, reflecting favorable cost savings. The Board approved a budget-focused strategic planning workshop planned for May and several committee appointments. LEARN TO LOVE YOUR CROSSWALK This February, show a little love where it matters most—the crosswalk. Crosswalks are there to keep everyone safe. When drivers stop and pedestrians stay alert, we all get home safely. Let’s respect the path we share by slowing down, paying attention, and looking out for one another. • Stop for pedestrians • Cross at marked crosswalks • Stay alert—phones down, heads up • Safety is always in style. Data: The Woodlands could add 2 more hotels
The Woodlands Township could support another two hotels—including an “upper- upscale” luxury hotel—to keep more hotel and convention business in the township borders, according to a report presented at the Jan. 22 board of directors meeting. The Woodlands lost $175 million from potential business leads for hotel room nights for 2021-30, mostly in 2023-25, according to the report. The Woodlands currently has 2,254 hotel rooms, of which about 1,300 are full-service with restaurant and meeting or event space. The remainder
are select-service, or smaller hotels, said Chris Cylke, president and chief operating officer of REVPAR International, the consulting firm that conducted the study. Another 180 to 360 rooms could be added to The Woodlands market without impacting the existing hotel base, Cylke said. “A lot of these consumers would like to stay in the market, but there isn’t availability,” Cylke said. Together, those new hotels could bring an additional $1.9 million-$3.4 million in tax revenue for the township, according to the report.
Recommended hotel supply A study shows what new hotels The Woodlands could accommodate.

The context
“It’s hit a stagnant ... nothing’s happening,” said Brad Bailey, chair of The Woodlands Township board of directors. Township President and CEO Monique Sharp said the deadline for that project was 2028 for the first phase and 2030 for the second phase. No action was taken at the meeting. “We [have to] go recruit developers with this data in hand,” Bailey said.
This is not the first time the township has discussed bringing two new hotels into its limits. In early 2023, The Woodlands Mall managers, Brookfield Properties, outlined a proposal for an expansion that would bring two new hotels, as well as retail and restaurant space, to the mall. However, despite economic development incentives, that plan has not advanced beyond the discussion stage, officials said.

company, for its I-45 redevelopment zone storm sewer extension project for a total of $367,775.50, an amount officials said is well below what was slated for the project. The gist Interim Public Works Director Rual Porras told the council at the Jan. 14 meeting the project will consist of approximately 1,782 linear feet of storm sewer extension, including manholes, inlets and concrete work, providing drainage to the future redevelopment area of the city. The area is desig- nated to revitalize older parts of the city, Commu- nity Impact previously reported. The project will be in the area of Shenandoah Drive and Research Forest Drive. The city saved $314,024 on the estimated project amount, Porras said. “This project could have easily gone over $800,000,” Porras said.
