Johnson said the restaurant has a number of popular food items. “One of our pizzas is called Spirit of the Hero and it’s for the Spirit of the Hero Founda- tion, which is to help veterans who have had dificulties due to their service,” Johnson said, adding that a portion of the proits from the pizza goes to the charity. That dish—whose ingredi- ents include chopped brisket and red peppers—along with lasagna and pepperoni pizza are three of the restaurant’s most popular dishes, Johnson said. “Our spaghetti is also very, very good,” Johnson said. “I don’t think there’s anything you can go wrong with [when you order]. We do make every- thing in house from scratch.” Earl’s 377 Pizza’s menu also offers salads—Caesar and Ital- ian Cobb—and desserts. Friday and Saturday are the busiest days, Johnson said, but the restaurant draws a
pizza and spaghetti, and diners can listen to music selections from yesteryear—including Frank Sinatra singing “The Way You Look Tonight”— as they enjoy their meal. But this is not a typical Italian restaurant. What’s different inside can be found in a strong military-motif in its decor, with, for example, helmets functioning as light ixtures. The restaurant formerly served as an Argyle ire station. The nod toward the military emanates from the restaurant’s namesake, Earl, a ictitious man who served in the military overseas and met and married an equally icti- tious woman named Isabella in Italy. They eventually moved to Texas. She wanted to open a restaurant, and Earl’s is the result. Isabella is also featured prominently in the restaurant logo, found on the main menu.
