Chicknic serves up family-style roast chicken in Bee Cave
Russel Taylor said he lived “many dierent lives” before calling Austin home in 2013 and opening Chicknic, a restaurant serving family-style roast chicken and more, in 2023. A family aair Prior to Chicknic, Taylor worked in restaurants around the world, including Chicago, Los Angeles and London and later transitioned into a market- ing career at tech company IBM. A family dinner request in Dripping Springs during the COVID-19 pandemic helped Taylor nd his way back to the kitchen and into what would become Chicknic. “One night, my father-in-law called me up and said, ‘Can you please bring us dinner? And it can’t be barbecue, burgers, tacos or pizza,’” Taylor said.
Chicknic’s roast chicken meal comes with aji sauce, a tangy South American salsa.
