Eanes ISD weighs $7M in cost-saving strategies Eanes ISD officials are considering cost-saving strategies as the district projects budget shortfalls amidst a growing list of expenditures outpacing its funding. The details In order to balance the projected 2026-27 budget, cost-saving options include: • A Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election, which would increase the maintenance and opera- tions tax rate for EISD to retain $3.8 million out of $20 million from the increased rate. • Increasing facility rental rates, creating online courses and adding more transfer students could increase revenues by up to $600,000. • Adjusting staffing structures could net $3.3 million in savings. • Reduce or eliminate district programs and

LTISD, EISD receive top financial ratings Eanes ISD and Lake Travis ISD both received 94 out of 100 possible points in the Texas Education Agency’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas rating, or FIRST, marking another year both districts have received the highest possible rating. Breaking it down The rating is based on the 2023-24 fiscal year and includes 21 indicators that assess the districts’ business operations competency, such as timely financial report filings and payments, and overall financial health and sustainability, such as having sufficient cash on hand to cover operating expenses. EISD and LTISD received passing scores on all indicators with the exception of an indica- tor for the district’s ratio of current assets to liabilities, scoring 8 out of 10 possible points.
