www.domainnorthside.com/events FREE KID 20 THROUGH DEC. 24 WRITE LETTERS TO SANTA Children can drop a list to Santa Claus at Santa House at Domain Northside. For every letter dropped in at Santa House between Culinary Dropout and Valencia’s Tex-Mex, Domain Northside will donate $1 to The SAFE Alliance. The SAFE Alliance exists to stop abuse for everyone by serving the survivors of child abuse, sexual assault, tracking and domestic violence. The Austin Steam Train Association will host its North Pole Flyer, departing from the Bertram Depot. On this two-hour ride, passengers will have visits and trips with Santa, gifts for children under age 13, a visit and cookies from Mrs. Claus, unlimited hot chocolate and more. There will be two departure times on both days at noon and 3:30 p.m. Free (children under age 3), $45- $55 (general admission). 170 S. The tree stands 155 feet tall and features 3,309 lights. The tree was rst lit Dec. 10, 1967, by then-Mayor Pro Tem Emma Long. 5:30 p.m. (preshow music), 6 p.m. (tree lighting). The Austin Police Department is celebrating its 50th year running Operation Blue Santa. This year, the program is expected to help 6,000 families. New, unwrapped toys can be donated at any Chuy’s location or at 4101 S. Industrial Drive, Ste. 260, Austin. www.bluesanta.org KID THROUGH JAN. 6 ATTEND A LIGHT SHOW Mozart Coee Roasters on Lake Austin Boulevard will host an annual immersive light show where attendees can reserve a table ahead of time to enjoy light bites and coee on the menu. Parking is available for free. Attendees are encouraged to allow enough time to park and stroll to the waterside. General admission is free. Shoppers can take a sele or “ele” photo at the sele walls, scan the QR code on it and post it to Instagram to enter to win a shopping spree at Domain Northside.

Domain Northside will host a holiday tree light show every hour on the hour at the holiday tree next to The Lawn, across the street from Apple. Sat. noon-9 p.m., Sun. noon-6 p.m., Mon.-Fri. 5-9 p.m., Christmas Eve and New Year Day noon-6 p.m. Free. 3121 Palm Way, Austin. www.domainnorthside.com

The Austin Trail of Lights returns as a walking event. This year’s spectacle will feature more than 2 million holiday lights, 90 holiday trees, lighted tunnels and more than 70 other displays. 7 p.m. General admission is free on some nights and $5 on others. Zilker Park, 2100 Barton Springs Road, Austin. www.austintrailoights.org 06 THROUGH 11 ENJOY A CLASSIC STORY A touring company will perform “How the Grinch Stole Christmas The Musical” at the Bass Concert Hall this season. The show tells the classic Dr. Seuss story live and features classic songs, including “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas.” Times vary. $30-$130. 512-471- 1444. www.texasperformingarts.org KID 11 JAM TO LIVE MUSIC Austin’s Jingle Jam with headliners Ashanti and Ja Rule will be at the H-E-B Center for the holidays. Hosted by Sean Da Don and DJ Fame, the show will include performances by Juvenile, Trina, Lloyd, Ying Yang Twins and special guest Gemtumes. CHRISTMAS SHOW Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will host its 11th annual outdoor Christmas production, “Follow The Star.” The drive- thru and walk-thru production will feature the 10 critical scenes of the life of Jesus Christ, with professional sound, lighting and over 300 cast and crew members. 6:30-9 p.m. Free, but participants are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items. 700 W.
