“I really am a huge proponent of the next generation of kids,” she said. On the menu Cakes are the most popular item at Granny’s Bakery with 88 avors. Bread and cinnamon rolls are also popular, Everson said. During the entire month of November, the bak- ery will also sell pies including pumpkin, cherry, apple, pecan, and caramel apple. Everson’s favorite is the made-to-order specialty cakes that can come with intricate designs for any occasion. Many of the avors oered at Granny’s started as specialty cake order avors. “I love those,” she said. “Those fuel my re.”
Cookies are a staple at Granny’s Bakery.
When her grandmother died during Everson’s sophomore year, Everson knew she would open a bakery in her honor. “I’m going to do it for us since she couldn’t do it with me,” she said. Everson opened the brick-and-mortar bakery in Celina’s downtown in 2023. What’s special about it? Everson likes to go beyond baking goodies. She teaches baking classes to children and adults at the bakery, as well as demonstrations at the local high schools, she said.
