4 I-35 Northeast Expansion south project Project: TxDOT is expanding approximately 20 miles of I-35 from North Walters Street to FM 11032 in Bexar County. Phase 1 of the I-35 NEX south project includes designing, constructing and maintenance of 4.2 miles of non-tolled improvements along I-35 and runs through northeast San Antonio and adjacent roadways to Windcrest in Bexar County. Update: According to the TxDOT website, work includes the construction of three elevated lanes, including two mainlanes and one high-occupancy vehicle in each direction. • Timeline: Summer 2024-2028. • Cost: $700 million • Funding source: Federal and state funds estimated to be completed in 2026. Construction from US 281 to Redland Road is estimated to be completed in 2027. • Timeline: 2021-2027 • Cost: $497 million (segments mentioned above) • Funding source: Federal and state funds

3 Vance Jackson Road (Huebner Road to Wurzbach Road) project Project: Part of the city of San Antonio’s 2022-2027 bond program, work includes a series of roadway improvements, such as adding a consistent two-way center turn lane, building improved sidewalks and a shared-use-path and installing underground drainage to low-water-crossings. Update: The project is currently in the design phase and is estimated to begin construction in 2027 • Timeline: winter 2027-fall 2028 • Cost: $16.40 million • Funding source: 2022-2027 bond program

1 Sonterra Boulevard Extension project Project: Part of the city of San Antonio’s 2022-2027 bond program, work includes widening the road into a four-lane roadway that leads to Loop 1604. Additional upgrades include a raised center median; roadway lighting in the median; a 6-foot sidewalk; a 12-foot shared-use path; two 11-foot left lanes; and two 12-foot right lanes. Update: According to city documents, construction workers have completed the first layer of asphalt and begun flatwork for Phase 1, and constructed the roundabout, sidewalks and shared-use path. • Timeline: summer 2024-summer 2025 • Cost: $6.3 million • Funding source: 2022-2027 bond program
