Hwy. 21 to William Pettus Road. The water line project was included in the city’s Water Master Plan to support future de- velopment at the San Marcos Airport and a proposed San Marcos Fire Department training facility. Timeline: August 2022-spring 2023 Cost: $1.59 million Funding source: city of San Marcos 3 Uhland Road under construction Construction on Uhland Road includes the full-depth reconstruction of County Road and Uhland Road, a round- about at the Uhland Road and River Road intersection, and a bike lane. The bike lane will be located between the I-35 frontage road and the low-water crossing at River Road. A stormwater drainage system will also be installed along County and Uhland roads with a new outfall to the Blanco River. The sidewalk will be extended up to 10 feet wide along Uhland Road to Aquarena Springs Drive, and an additional bus stop with upgrades of two existing bus stops will also be included in the construction of the proj- ect along Uhland Road with water and wastewater improvements along County and Uhland roads. Timeline: March 2021-spring 2023 Cost: $6.54 million Funding source: Community Develop- ment Block Grant Disaster Relief Program

FM 2001 West project completed Hays County and Texas Department of Transportation officials celebrated the completion of the FM 2001 West realignment project March 23, which eliminated sharp curves in the road to improve safety. The project is about a mile in length and features a new four- lane divided roadway with curbs and sidewalks. This is one of three overall FM 2001 projects; there is no timeline for when the other two projects will begin and be completed as funding has not been secured. The project will work to improve safety and mobility, according to TxDOT.
