Out of 39 applications, 18 candi- dates were invited to submit screening videos addressing key issues in law enforcement, such as recruiting and balancing community demands with resource constraints, the news release states. Eight candidates were interviewed based on their video submissions, the news release states. Two review panels evaluated submissions. One panel included sworn and civilian personnel from the New Braunfels Police Department, and the other panel consisted of individuals from city administration, human resources and the New Braunfels Fire Department, according to the news release.
