transportation projects in a bond proposition, according to a city sta report. Several of the streets show signs of cracking due to increased trac and the 2021 winter storm, the city said. They are also reaching their projected life cycle for needed maintenance work. In terms of scal impact, former Lakeway City Manager Julie Oakley said the debt service incurred by the bond will be $1.18 million annually. This will also increase the city’s interest and sinking, or I&S, tax rate by $0.0114. The increase in the I&S tax rate would amount to homeowners in Lakeway paying an estimated $6.58 per month, she said. Although voters may authorize the use of the $17.47 million bond, the city does not have to issue the funds, or use the full amount.
