Lake Travis ISD voters to consider $703 million in November election

BOND BREAKDOWN Lake Travis ISD is holding a bond election in November for three propositions totaling $703 million. The propositions address the need for new facilities, new technology needs and improvements to sports facilities.

be used to build two new elementary schools and a new high school. Funds will also be used for improvements at each existing campus and in district facilities. Proposition B, totaling $60.79 million, will be used for technology improvements. According to the district, technology items include sta and student devices as well as improving technology infrastructure at existing facilities such as cabling and network technology, among other needed classroom technology. Proposition C, totaling $93.8 million, will be used for school stadium facili- ties. Over half the funds are dedicated to facilities at the new high school, and $34.6 million are for improvements at Lake Travis High School. Hudson Bend and Lake Travis middle schools are allocated roughly $2.66 million total in this bond as well for turf replacement.

Due to an increasing student population in western Travis County, Lake Travis ISD voted to call a bond election for November totaling $703 million during an Aug. 17 meeting. The bond will pay for new facili- ties, improvements, technology and several other needed projects. Alongside student growth, cer- tain schools are seeing increased enrollment, and several schools in the district are at risk of passing the 120% capacity threshold in the next ve years. “The goal of the bond is to meet the needs of our school and our commu- nity,” said Pam Sanchez, the district assistant superintendent for business services, during the Aug. 17 meeting. There are three propositions up for consideration in the bond. Proposi- tion A, totaling $548.41 million, will
