Honest Mary’s oers feel-good, fast-casual dining Founded by wife and husband Mary and Nelson Monteith, Honest Mary’s is a local eatery oering healthy fast food while aiming to positively impact others’ lives. What’s in a name

Honest Mary’s was founded by Mary and Nelson Monteith in 2017.

On the menu With a mission to provide convenient clean-eating options, Honest Mary’s oers both signature and build-your-own bowls. Guests start by selecting a protein such as tofu or chicken, followed by a base of grains or greens. Bowls are nished o by adding sides, toppings and a sauce. Why we love it Nelson said their goal at Honest Mary’s is to help guests and team members become the best version of themselves. “We’re so much more than a meal,” Nelson said. “We hope when you leave Honest Mary’s, you feel better than when you got here.”

In 2015, Nelson said he and Mary were young Austinites leading active lives with limited time. “We wanted to eat things that were healthy, aordable and convenient,” he said. “Unfortunately, very few [options] hit that sweet spot.” The rst location of Honest Mary’s opened in The Arboretum in 2017, followed by the Rosedale location in 2020. Their newest location in Cedar Park opened in July, and the Monteiths have hopes of expanding further.
