Frozen Flamingo serves sweet treats in Georgetown Faith Thomas has history with the custard shop located near the intersection of I-35 and Williams Drive. She worked there in high school—as did her three siblings—and came back in 2017 as a man- ager. Two years later, she bought the business and rebranded it as Frozen Flamingo in 2021. cocktail or putting the cream base in shaved ice. The business, which also o ers a drive-thru, revamped its patio this summer to provide shade to customers.

“As a consumer, I love going to places where a group of people can all be satis ed, so that is what I was trying to do here,” Thomas said. Looking ahead Thomas said social media has helped bring new customers to Frozen Flamingo. She often posts point-of-view videos showing her make orders. “People drive from all over Texas to come say hello,” she said. “They’re driving past other custard shops ... and they’re coming here because they like to have a face with the business.”
“I could tell [the business] needed someone who could dedicate their whole life to it,” Thomas said. On the menu Frozen Flamingo o ers three types of desserts: custard, shaved ice and frozen cocktails. Thomas said because it’s the custard—a thicker and creamier product than ice cream—that sets the business apart, she likes to incorporate it in Frozen Flamingo’s other treats by adding a scoop to a
