Why are you running?

After attending all board meetings in MISD but ve over the last three years I have identied areas where my depth and breadth of experience would be helpful. This includes more complete capital bond management practices. An improved and focused safety program starting with a month- ly safety report, including incidents reviews. Improved transparency and involvement of the public through workshops and forums, I believe we need to include teachers’ administrative decisions aecting them. I am passionate about public education being available for all children. Our children are the great- est asset for our future. I want everyone to know about the great programs we oer and how well our students perform. I am ghting against the mis- information about our curriculum. I will not allow our teachers to be falsely criticized. Teachers must be respected for the hard work they do, which is evident by our 98% graduation rate. I am a natural leader, who has been actively en- gaged in this wonderful community for 10 years and worked within schools as both a substitute and volunteer for 20 years. I am involved in the homeschool community as well as public school. I communicate regularly with teachers and families about the challenges they face in school and in education and we work to nd solutions together.
