Council OKs commercial space

Plans for new Frisco Police shooting range move forward The Frisco Police Department will get a new shooting range, city documents state. Frisco City Council approved a contract for the new shooting range as part of its consent agenda at a July 1 meeting. The details Several contractors were considered, but City Council members awarded a $778,438 contract to Fort Worth-based construction company SEDALCO Inc. for the new range. About $7,500 is for preconstruction services. The range will be 25,000 square feet and include 4,000 square feet of administrative space, accord- ing to city documents. There will be multiple shooting lanes to accom- modate shooting distances of up to 100 yards. The

New buildings dedicated to commercial development will be constructed in Frisco. Frisco City Council approved a permit for two new buildings at its July 1 meeting. The buildings will include office, warehouse and distribution center space. The details The two buildings will total 180,400 square feet and sit on the northwest corner of SH 121 and Custer Road. They will be built and oriented so that trucks dock internally and are hard to see from nearby roads, trails and parkland. There is parkland to the north of the property, as well as a trail to the east. There will be open space on the eastern side of the site where it will border Frisco’s trail along West Rowlett Creek.

The structure will be integrated into the existing public safety training center. The total construction budget for the new range is estimated to be $13.5 million , including design

Funding for the project is available from city bond funds. A maximum price for the range will come back to City Council for approval in the summer.
