City leaders and Fire Department personnel celebrated the grand opening of Fire Station No. 10 at a hose-uncoupling event June 30, which was done instead of cutting a ribbon. The event ended with what’s called a push-in, where residents and city leaders pushed a re engine into the new station. The details Fire Station No. 10 sits on Fields Parkway in northwest Frisco near the Fields development. Fireghters at the station have access to an indoor and outdoor workout space, as well as individual dorms. The station cost $16 million and was paid for by 2019 voter-approved bond funds. Frisco re stations 9 and 6 previously served this area of the city. What they’re saying City Manager Wes Pierson said the new station is an accomplishment for the city but that there’s more re stations to build and more public safety personnel to hire. Mayor Je Cheney said the new station demon- strates the city’s commitment to public safety in one of the fastest-growing parts of Frisco. “Taking a proactive approach to having this station open and built as the growth is happening is really important and a commitment to make sure that we keep our residents safe,” he said.
