The Montgomery County Animal Shelter opened a new wellness clinic Nov.  at  Hwy. , Conroe. Dr. Melia Washington, chief veteri- narian for MCAS and head of the new clinic, said the clinic’s purpose is to provide basic pet care and vaccines at a low cost. Texas Transportation Commission approves Jan. 1 Grand Parkway toll hike

Drivers on the Grand Parkway will pay higher tolls come Jan. , , according to new toll rates approved by the Texas Transportation Commission on Oct. . Toll rate escalation policies adopted by the commis- sion in  allow toll rates to increase each January by a percentage determined by the Texas Department of Trans- portation and reported to the TTC in October. On Jan. , , toll rates will increase % from the  base toll rates for each segment of the Grand Parkway, according to the order approved Oct. . Initial toll prices were also approved for toll gantries expected to be constructed at the existing on- and o- ramps at Riverwalk Drive in the Porter area with the completion of Riverwalk Drive at Hwy. , according to meeting information.
