The Woodlands Edition - December 2019

DEVELOPMENT Cinépolis plans to bring movie, dining experience to Creekside Park West Movie theater company Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas opened Nov. at its new location anchoring the -acre Creekside Park West shopping center at Kuykendahl Road, said Barrett Cox, the general manager of The Woodlands location. Developed by Howard Hughes Corp., The Woodlands’ ,-square-foot Cinépolis location is the seventh for the company in Texas and one of about in the country, Cox said. The location was originally planned as a Moviehouse & Eatery theater until Cinépolis acquired the business in July. Cinépolis prides itself its on-site kitchens where menu items are made from scratch, Cox said. “We smoke our own bacon; we make all of our own sauces and dressings,” Cox said. “The quality is there. People right now are used to coming in and getting a hot dog and popcorn. ... We want to do an in-dining experience while we’re showing a movie.” Along with the kitchen, Cinépolis oers a full-service bar with regular and two local beers on tap. Guests push a button from their seats to indicate when they are ready to order, and Cox said servers are expected to take orders within three minutes. Guest orders are usually taken before the movie begins, and checks are dropped by the servers about - minutes before the movie ends. Cinépolis features screens, with individual theater seating capacities ranging from to seats. Cox said along with new releases, the theater will show special screenings throughout the week for children, seniors and mothers as well as classic lms, and international and independent lms based on the area’s demographics. Cinépolis had originally estimated opening in early November, but the opening date was pushed back to Nov. for weather and other delays. Developer Howard Hughes Corp. is in talks to bring other vendors to the area, but representatives said in early November they were not yet nalized. BY ANDREWCHRISTMAN
