Construction updates Several retail projects are under development on Gosling Road, and projects including a movie theater and hotel are underway east of I-45 in south Montgomery County. 1 Work is progressing on the construction of a Regal Theater near BirnhamWoods Drive and the Grand Parkway. Crews on-site said the building is anticipated to open by late 2020, and information from developer J. Beard Real Estate Co. states the complex around the theater will open in the first quarter of 2020. 2 Construction of the Berry Farms Marketplace on Gosling Road is underway, and tenants began occupying the retail center at the site in the fall. The center is anchored by a Spec’s liquor store and Woodspring Dentistry. 3 Crews were continuing to work on an Even Hotel in Shenan- doah in November. John Mayner, the director of the Shenandoah Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the hotel is anticipated to open by the end of 2020. The hotel will have 120 rooms and be the 13th hotel in the city, he said. 4 A building in the Wood Ridge Plaza near I-45 North has been demolished to make way for a new location for farm-to-kitchen restaurant Whiskey Cake. Alison Taylor, a press representative for Whiskey Cake, said the restaurant plans to open in summer 2020. 5 A 4,600-square-foot retail office is nearing completion near the intersection of Gosling Road and West Rayford Road in Spring. According to leasing agent Texas Glocal Partners, the building was available for lease in November.
