EISD adopts lower tax rate for FY 2025-26 The Eanes ISD board of trustees adopted a tax rate of $0.8322 for fiscal year 2025-26 on Aug. 19, a slightly lower rate than last year due to state-mandated rate compression. Even so, the average taxable value of district homesteads rose from $1.49 million in 2023 to $1.63 million in 2024, meaning the average homeowner could still see a tax increase of around $370.
ACC awarded $3.6M semiconductor grant Austin Community College received a $3.6 million grant in August. In a nutshell Per an Aug. 14 news release from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s office, the grant is part of the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund, an incentive program to encourage semicon- ductor research, design and manufacturing in Texas. The fund awards grants to state entities and higher educational institutions for manufacturing and design projects, as well as businesses with established presences in the state. “Texas continues to lead America’s resurgence in semiconductor manufacturing thanks to our highly skilled and growing workforce,” Gov. Abbott said in the release.
TEA releases A-F ratings for past 2 school years Yearly accountability ratings were released by the Texas Education Agency in August, highlight- ing the performance of Texas public schools in the 2024-25 school year. In July, Texas’ 15th Court of Appeals ruled that the 2023-24 ratings could be released, and the TEA shared them alongside rankings for 2024-2025. Here is how Eanes, Lake Travis and Leander ISDs within the Lake Travis-Westlake area per- formed. A, B and C ratings are considered passing, while D and F are failing. Eanes ISD The district scored an A both years. All of EISD’s campuses received an A in 2024 and 2025, with the exception of Valley View Elementary. Lake Travis ISD LTISD received an A rating for 2024-25, up from

LTISD adopts budget with $4.2M shortfall
and $150.1 million in expenditures, resulting in a $4.2 million shortfall • A balanced food service fund • A debt service fund with a $987.3K surplus The adopted tax rate of $1.0397 is the lowest tax rate in LTISD history, but is the highest it can be without calling a voter-approved tax rate election due to mandated state compression. The average taxable home value in LTISD for 2024 was $549,872, down from $572,230 in 2023, agenda documents show. Given the new rate, the average homeowner will owe $381 less in taxes.

Leander ISD The district scored a B for 2024-25, but did see a two-point increase over the previous year. For 2024-25, 22 campuses received an A, 12 received a B, 12 received a C, and Ada Mae Faubion Elementary School received a D.
