Bee Creek Road updates on horizon Travis County is preparing for improve- ments to a section of Bee Creek Road between Highlands Boulevard and Lakehurst Road, per an Aug. 25 news release. Costing $16 million, the county project involves widening Bee Creek Road to three lanes to include a center turn lane, adding shoulders on both sides and a shared-use path on one side. Roadway design is expected to begin in early 2026.

$4B statewide road funding to nance local projects
investment falls under the more than $146 billion outlined for roads across the state. Main thoroughfares across the Austin area are expected to see funding from the state, including $249.3 million for RM 620 improvements from Hudson Bend Road to Hwy. 71 and $209.6 million for Loop 360 intersection improvements. The funding for both projects is expected to be given through scal years 2026-2029, according to TxDOT.
Gov. Greg Abbott unveiled a new 10-year transportation plan from the Texas Department of Transportation in August, outlining a nearly $4 billion investment in the Austin area.
