What they’re saying This amendment sparked a debate among the commissioners on whether it is the county’s or state’s responsibility to add funding to the district attorney’s salary. Long and Covey said their goal is to provide Dick a higher salary while avoiding having county taxpayers pay for something they believe the state should. Gravell disagreed, citing concerns about making county salaries attractive to top talent.
All council members approved the salary adjustment for Farren Sheehan, the presid- ing municipal court judge. When she was appointed in 2018, her salary was $38,701, according to city documents. What else? City Council also unanimously approved the appointment of a new associate judge, Kristina Rojas-Stompel. She has previously held positions as an assistant county attor- ney for Williamson County and a prosecutor for the city of Cedar Park.
